• What is Knoowy?

  Knoowy is an online platform where students help each other with their studies. At Knoowy, one can sell and buy homemade documents from other students, or you can offer services where you help other students with specific study problems.

• For whom is Knoowy?

  Knoowy is especially developed for students. In fact, at Knoowy you will find two types of users; Students who offer lecture notes and study services, and students who are looking to buy documents or receive help with their studies. Or maybe ofcourse a combination of both.

Pay out

• How can I cash out?

  You must arrange the payment of your balance yourself. This means you determine the moment of getting paid. You can cash out from 15 euros. Go to "balance" and enter the details to cash out.

• When do I get paid?

  Users determine themselves when to cash out. We process payment requests daily. The money will be in your back account within a few working days.

• Why can I only cash out from 15 euros?

  The costs of bank transactions are quite high. Because of this Knoowy has the policy to cash out from 15 euros. This is too provent users from cashing out small amounts of money on a daily basis.

• Wat does a knoowy account cost?

  You may sign up with Knoowy for free. Only when you decide to buy a document or receive help from a tutor you need to pay the associated costs.

• How do I delete my account?

  Do you want to delete your account at Knoowy? You can arrange this by clicking on "delete account" in profile settings.

• What is my account information used for?

  Your account information is used confidentially. For more information, see our Privacy policy.

• Why should I trust Knoowy?

  Knoowy is a fairly new company trusted by thousands of students. We believe in our concept, and that's why we promise a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

• Is Knoowy safe?

  Knoowy is a safe website. Knoowy has safetycertificates and guarantees the confidentiality of your data.

• What does Knoowy do with my personal data?

  Your account information is used only by Knoowy for proper functioning of the website. For more information see our Privacy policy.

Buying documents

• How do I download a document?

  To download a document you have to log in to your account. Navigate to the documnet you want to download and click the button to buy the document. You can now choose one of the four payment methods. Once the document is paid you can download it from the website.

• How do I use discount codes?

  You can enter your coupon code before checkout. Enter your code and the discount is automatically processed. You can use your coupon code only once. Use your code before checking out, because it is not possible to claim your discount after checkout.

• Is it possible to download documents multiple times?

  Documents bought by a user, remain available for free for that particular user as long as the document is presented at the website.

• What rights do I get with purchasing a document?

  When you buy a document at Knoowy, you may only use the document for own use. The copyright stays with the seller. Under no circumstances, without permission of the seller, it is permitted to multiply and spread the item in public.

• Can I get a refund when I’m not satisfied?

  Whenever you are dissatisfied with your document, it is possible to ask your money back in form of Knoowy balance so that you can buy another document. Through this form you can submit an application.

• I have bought a document but I haven’t received it. What to do next?

  People who have bought a document can download this immediately after the purchase. If this is not the case, then probably something went wrong with the purchasing process. Please contact us immediately and we will make sure, after checking your payment, that you receive your document as soon as possible.

Copyright

• What is copyright?

  Copyright is: "A legal concept giving the creator of a work the exclusive rights to make his work public, and to copy and spread the work."

• How does Knoowy deal with copyright?

  The copyright belongs to creator of the work. By selling your documents on Knoowy, you thus stay the copyright owner of your own items. For further information about copyright please look at our general Terms of Use section.

Selling documents

• Which documents can I sell at Knoowy?

  You may sell every homemade study document at Knoowy. Most of the documents are summaries and notes of lectures and books. The most important condition of every document is that it must be homemade. You may not sell copies of other people's work, because that is considered plagiarism.

• How can I edit my documents?

  When you want to edit one of your own documents, go to the corresponding document and click the "Edit" button. To edit your document you must be logged in.

• What file formats can I use to upload a document?

  You can upload all kinds of files. If there are problems uploading a special type of file please feel free to contact us.

• How much money do I receive per item sold?

  The selling price is always determined by the seller himself. The seller initially earns 70% per document sold. This percentage can be raised by earning extra percents.

• Does discount influence the commission I earn per document sold?

  No. Buyers can get a discount in various ways. This discount will never influence the percentage you earn when you sell a document.

• Do I need to promote my documents?

  It’s important to promote your document with friends, classmates and other interested people. Promotion gets you more downloads, and thereby you earn more money. For more information about promotion, please take a look at our Promotion & Tips section.

• Someone else uploaded a document of mine on Knoowy. What should I do now?

  When you notice someone illegally uploaded a document of yours, you should report this to Knoowy. When the claim is true, we will make sure the document is deleted.

• How do I select documents for a bundle?

  Knoowy gives you the opportunity to sell multiple documents at once in a bundle. To create a bundle, first you have to upload the documents one by one on Knoowy. After that, create your bundle by selecting the documents which you want to add.

Questions for tutors

• Who can be a tutor at Knoowy?

  Everyone may become a tutor at Knoowy. At Knoowy both students and professionals offer services to help students. Students for example are suitable to become a tutor when you excel in a particular subject in school. You don't need experience to become a tutor at Knoowy. When you're motivated and when you communicate clearly with possible clients, then lack of experience does not matter. In the end, the only thing that matters is whether or not you can help others studying.

• What services can I offer as a tutor?

  At Knoowy you may choose for yourself what services to offer. Think of tutoring, thesis revision, and translating texts. These services may be suited for certain courses in school, but you can also add services for a wider audience.

• Why should I use Knoowy?

  Knoowy works easy and guarantees you get paid when the service takes place. By actively participating in the platform, you build a reputation through reviews that help you with future assignments.

• What do tutors need to do when receiving an inquiry?

  When a student contacts you about a service, you are automatically noticed by email. When the students sends a message, it is preferred to answer as quickly as possible, and to complete the conversation via Knoowy messages. When it's clear what the problem of the tutor is, you can send an appropriate proposal. More information can be found at the how it works page.

• What do I need to do when a student does not accept my proposal?

  We recommend you ask the student why the proposal is not accepted. On basis of this information you can maybe send a new proposal.

• Can I reschedule an appointment?

  At the moment it is not possible to reschedule appointments via Knoowy. When you do wish to help the student at another time, you need to settle this with the student. You can have the conversation about rescheduling via Knoowy.

• How much do I earn as a tutor?

  You can determine the rate of the service yourself. Together with the student you agree upon a total price. Base your rate on your own experience, your level of education and reviews. 90% of earnings are paid to the tutor.

• How do tutors get paid?

  Before services can take place, students need to pay the amount due to Knoowy. Without payment the service cannot start. When the service starts, the payment is automatically released to the tutor's account. This way tutors do not need to be afraid of not getting paid.

Questions for students

• How do I contact a tutor?

  You can contact a tutor directly from his profile. Send a message through Knoowy and get a message back as soon as possible. Most tutors respond within a day.

• How quickly will a tutor respond to my request?

  This varies from tutor to tutor. We do everything we can to motivate tutors to respond as quickly as possible. Most tutors therefore respond within a day.

• Can I reschedule the appointment I've made?

  At the moment it is not possible to reschedule appointments. When the moment does not suit you, please contact the tutor and ask to reschedule the service. The conversation of rescheduling can take place via Knoowy messages.

• I had an appointment with my tutor, however, the tutor didn't show up. What should I do next?

  Contact the tutor what's going on. When the service does not take place in a future moment, for any reason, you can contact Knoowy to get a full refund.

• What should I do if I cannot be present at the agreed time?

  When you cannot be present at the time you've agreed with the tutor, then we recommend you to contact the tutor and reschedule the appointment.

• I am not satisfied with the service. What can I do?

  We encourage you to share your experience on the tutor's profile by leaving a review. Contact the tutor and try to mutually solve the problem. If that fails, Knoowy offers the opportunity to act as a mediator.

• How much do study services cost?

  Tutor set a target price with every single service. Together with the tutor you settle on a final price. In addition to the tutor's costs, Knoowy also charges commission and transaction costs.

• How do I pay for services?

  Payments are conducted safely through Knoowy. Knoowy offers different payment methods, including iDeal, Paypal and creditcard. Your payment to the tutor will be final when the service has started. You always get value for your money, because Knoowy offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

• Can Knoowy point out a tutor for me?

  Knoowy does not determine which tutor suits you best. The platform is designed to do that on your own, in order to find the best match between students and tutors.

• How do I learn with quizzes?

  You can learn the questions by clicking Flip. As soon as you click on this, you will see the answer. By coming up with the answers to the questions and checking them, you learn the study material.

• Where can I find quizzes that I have purchased?

  Purchased quizzes will appear in your overview in My purchases. The practice questions are not shown on the same page as the documents, but are displayed in a separate tab.

• What are learning methods?

  With quizzes you can choose the way you want to learn the questions. You have a method where you have to make the cards in your mind and a method where you can type the answers before viewing the answer.

Make quiz questions

• How do I create quiz questions myself?

  You can create your own practice questions by clicking on Create practice questions. You come up with a question and the answer to that question. You can then add a new practice question, until you list of practice questions is complete

• How do I make Knoowy generate quiz questions?

  Knoowy can very quickly generate a list of practice questions. Indicate the topic you want practice questions on. Delimit the topic as well as possible so that you can ask relevant questions Click on next and the questions will be automatically created by Knoowy.

• What does publish quiz questions mean?

  By publishing your practice questions, you also make your set of practice questions available to other students. These students can buy and practice your practice questions.
